A Long-Lived Charged Next Lightest Supersymmetric Particle at the LHC

Abstract: If the scalar tau is the next lightest supersymmetric particle and decays into gravitino being the lightest supersymmetric particle, it will have a very long lifetime. The idea is to add a ?stopper detector? to CMS experiment to stop the statistically reasonable number of these scalar taus to study their lifetime and mass. The feasibility of the idea is discussed.
